As Minister of the City, Maurice Leroy prepares and implements government policies in deprived areas of the city. He assumes the charge of urban renewal policy which aims to reduce social inequalities in the national program of urban renewal. He is responsible for the supervision of the National Agency for Urban Renewal and the National Agency for Social Cohesion and Equal Opportunities.
Maurice Leroy also prepares the Government's strategy for sustainable economic development of the Capital region and implements the project of Greater Paris and national investment projects that contribute to it.
He is responsible for supervision of public institutions established for that purpose.
He was elected President of ‘Loir-et-Cher’ district Executive Assembly and is a Member of Parliament. From 2009 to 2010 he was Vice-President of the National Assembly. Maurice Leroy also served as Mayor of Poislay (Loir-et-Cher District) and as Minister of the City since November 2010
