Dr. Hong-Bin Kang

Director Seoul History Museum, Seoul, South Korea

A prominent urbanist in Korea, Dr. Kang studied urban design and planning history at Harvard and MIT, and has taught, practiced, and held public office, leaving large marks on Seoul. As vice mayor of the host city, he initiated various projects (including the state of art 'Digital Media City') that capitalized on the World Cup 2002. At the time of 1988 Olympics, he helped shape the Olympic Park and Town as consulting designer/planner. As the guest head of the Yeosu Expo Organizing Committee's Strategy Planning Team, he led drafting of the master plan for Yeosu Expo 2012.
