Dr. Heinz Schaden has served as Mayor of the City of Salzburg since April 30, 1999 and was the Deputy Mayor from 1992 – 1999. He was the Director of Public Relations for the Chamber of Labour in Salzburg from 1987-1992 and was responsible for press, culture, library and women’s issues.
He served as Tour Director for Travellers International in London from 1981 – 1985 at the same time the Tour Director for Cultural Heritage Alliance of London from 1982 – 1985. He was also a contracting partner of Trans-World Airlines (TWA) before he served as the Chief of Staff for the State Secretary for Housing in the Ministry of Public Works in 1985 – 1987.
Mayor Dr. Heinz Schaden earned his post-graduate diploma in 1985 from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, an international post-graduate school for professions in diplomacy, international organizations and business. In 1981, he completed his doctorate degree with major in economic history, political science and journalism from the University of Salzburg.
