In her current position, Mrs. Kamal-Chaoui is conducting an extensive programme of work, including a series of 20 OECD metropolitan reviews (e.g. Stockholm, Seoul, Istanbul, Montreal, Mexico City) and national urban policy reviews. She advises national governments and sub-national authorities and animates the work of the OECD Working Party on Urban Areas and the OECD Roundtable of Mayors and Ministers on Urban Development Strategy. She is the main author of the OECD flagship publication "Competitive Cities in the Global Economy". Previously, she had worked in other OECD divisions, on fiscal federalism, social and labour market, regulatory reform and foreign direct Investment.
